Switcher Locomotives

Integral dx, Inc. Switcher Locomotives

Integral dx, Inc., utilizing its AAR certified locomotive facility, has released the first new family of Tier 4 locomotive switchers for the railroads in decades. This new family is in response to sold locomotive orders to the US Navy, Army and Air Force.

This family starts with selectable rear, mid, or front mount new build cabs, mounted on AAR crash compliant FEA computer analyzed new build frames. The customer can now mix and match their prime mover needs with dual engine configurations available in 900 Hp, 1200 Hp, and 1800 Hp. Once the Hp is selected, tractive effort driving tonnage can be optimized from 80 ton to 180 ton, in 10 ton increments. Yes, you can order your new build switcher a la carte. If your locomotive use does not need 60 mph while pulling a load, why pay for the extra diesel burn of an oversized engine and overweight frame, every year, for years to come.

Our new designed cab built by Integral dx, Inc. from the ground up incorporates the latest in technology and modern tractive effort controls, but provides the traditional AAR control stand. Integral dx, Inc. and its sister company SpecSys, Inc. are well known in the maintenance of way circles, having designed and built nearly 300 custom rail cars since 1999. Leveraging 25 years of rail equipment design knowledge, Integral dx, Inc. has the experience to deliver you top quality designs from their 125,000 square feet of AAR and ISO9001 certified facilities centrally located in MN, WI and SD.

Before committing to rebuilding a decade old locomotive, you owe it to yourself to let Integral dx, Inc. show you what a modern switcher family looks like.
